The Pig and The Machine, Harry Cloud Music

Razorcake

Honestly, if you told me this double LP was a comp, I’d absolutely believe that there were at least three different bands on it. It ranges from sludgy stoner rock, to arena metal, to ’90s indie rock. From what I’ve heard and read, this seems to be pretty on par for this band. And really, who doesn’t like a mix tape?-Emily T....

Hypostatic Info

Harry Cloud- The Pig And The Machine, 2x45rpm LP on WhitewOrm records, 2019. Check it out! Orphan Goggle's resident weirdo Harry Cloud teaming up with Paul Roessler from the Screamers and creating a beautiful wonderful mess of a record. What could go wrong? Um nothing... this is a massive trip of 60's death trip music blended up with 21st century American madness. It's kind of hard at first to get your head around Harry's pastiche of outsider folk/sludge/downer vibe but I find it totally mesmerizing. Songs like "Brains" bring the heavy and deranged rock action then blend into off-kilter outsider......

Almost Halloween Time Records

Harry Cloud insisted and I kept my promise. Here's my review of "The Pig And The Machine". Harry Cloud is a multifaceted artist, there's no doubt about this. The opening track "Fantasia", when I first heard it, made me think about The Cure and the music that opened the gigs of their Wish tour, majestic and monumental, the start of an odissey. Is "The Pig And The Machine" a concept album? No, probably it is not, the second track "Momo Island" is the first turn. The chorus "I saw and alligator through the window to beach / Rock steady leaves......

Strutter Magazine

Now here we have a very diverse album from Los Angeles with a sound that is far removed from commercial music. This is the kinda Underground ish rock that is worshipped by a lot of people who are against any type of commercial music. HARRY CLOUD is mixing a lot of various music genres, but is probably best described as an Alternative Rockmusician. He originally comes out of the Georgia state in the USA, but is currently based in L.A. The Pig and The Machine is the 5th album under the moniker of HARRY CLOUD, and he did a lot......

Peek-A-Boo Magazine

The thing I didn't expect from Harry Cloud is being so flexible in respect to forms of self-expression. It's probably the first thing you should know before listening to "The Pig And The Machine" - nothing is obvious. Even though some things would seem obvious to you like the introduction to the opening "Fantasia", it doesn't mean that Cloud would keep on going through the same paths. He needs just a few seconds to transform himself into the ghost of Tom Waits badtriping in Lynch's Red Room. And then change the background. You'd hear the tonalities of rebellious youth in......

Take Effect

A singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who now calls Los Angeles home, Harry Cloud, has been involved in Orphan Goggles, Fannyland and COPS, clearly doesn't appear to be interested in anything mundane, as this 5th solo album defies categorization in ways that bring punk, metal and alt-rock ideas to mind. In a very bold move, Cloud puts one of the longest tracks in the lead off position as the orchestral dirge of "Fantasia" sets an ominous mood that builds into a soaring, majestic display of metallic yet melodic sounds, and "Momo Island" continues the creativity with some dreamy garage-rock that's still a......

Monolith Cocktail

What we have here is a blaze of magic mushroom stoner bubblegum stoner psychedelia, a lo-fi inventive curse of tomorrow and yesterday when morrow meets tomorrow in a slaphappy kind of way. Imagine if your radio was wired to play the soundtrack to your most out there sordid wish, this could well be playing as it jumps from the semi classical to the music that the not quite best looking member of a 70's edition of Top Of The Pops audience would wiggle her arse to: not sexy but getting away with it. This album is inventive, dirty, funny, dark......
